CSR-Hurricane Support Relief
In the wake of Hurricane Irma and Maria that changed the lives of many of our Caribbean brothers and sisters drastically; DSCL believes that we have a responsibility to reach out and help as much as we can. As part of our continued efforts to fulfill our Corporate Social Responsibility we partnered with King Ocean Services to supply food items to both Dominica and St. Maarten.
We are committed to serve and give back to our communities and to a greater extent neighboring countries as they try to rebuild their lives.
We coordinated with corporate Guyana and we were overwhelmed with their positive responses and contributions. A lot of companies quickly jumped at the opportunity with donations for the islands. We are thankful for the support we’ve received from players likeDemerara Distillers Limited, Massy Distribution, Nideca Investments, CIDI, Beepats, Imperial Manufacturers, Ramzan Trading and Southland International.
It really shows the power of partnership when we pool our resources to lend a hand to our Caribbean neighbours who have been so terribly impacted by Hurricane Irma and Maria.
Blood Drive
Even though today’s scenario of aggressive competition causes everyone to be so occupied in chasing targets; we at Demerara Shipping Company Limited (DSCL) realize that there is a world around us.
Just to name a few, annually DSCL host blood drives as the dire need for blood in Guyana is acknowledged and this activity was started about ten years ago. Our company also contributes to special needs organizations by making donations of hampers filled with school and food supplies.
Our team has developed a grid of activities that will continue to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged ones, as we try to make the world a better place. In hope of bringing a smile to people’s lives our company has made a pledge to give back; this not only gives us a sense of inner satisfaction but also pride and contentment.
